The Gahirmatha Beach is one of the wonderful manifestations of nature. This shoreline has a wealth of common magnificence. You can stroll in the long extends of the shoreline and feel the cool touch of the stunning sands underneath your feet. Or, on the other hand you can sit on the shoreline and feel the inconspicuous breeze brushing touching your skin. Gahirmatha is the main marine untamed life haven of Odisha. This was informed all things considered in Government of Odisha, Forest and Environment Department Notification No. 18805/ F & E dated 27 Sept 1997 and distributed in the Odisha Gazette, exceptional No. 1268 dated 17 Oct 1997. It is situated between 86 degree 45' 57" to 87 degree 17' 36"- East longitude and 20 degree 17' 32" to 20 degree 45' 58" - North scope. The aggregate territory of the haven is 1435.0 km² which incorporates 1408.0 km² of water body & 27.0 km² of land mass including save woodlands, mud pads and accumulated sand bars. Center region of the haven comprises of 725.50 km² and the support zone represents 709.50 km². The whole asylum range comes surprisingly close to Kendrapara.
Olive Ridley ocean turtles move in enormous numbers from the earliest starting point of November, consistently, to mate and settling along the shoreline of Odisha.
